unfortunatly it doesn't generate a segmentation fault so apport doesn't handle it and yes apport is enabled in /etc/default/apport 'couse other segmentation fault are generated anyway I've tried on other ubuntu 8.04 machines and it's reproducible go to www.cerimages.com and hit ctrl++
