Install "texlive-latex-base". Run "pdflatex mathfanBasics.tex". Run "evince mathfanBasics.pdf". Do the following repeatedly until crash: Run "pdflatex mathfanBasics.tex". Switch to evince and press Ctrl-R (Reload).
