If the patch has been merged upstream (I don't care if using a plugin) then I am fine with that. For consistency with other applications, this should be enabled by default but I guess you can't ask too much. What I understood in principle was that the patch had not been accepted upstream, if it is, it will get into ubuntu soon or later.
