There is an option to print a selection in Firefox 3 (tested with
firefox-3.0+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1).

In the GTK+ printing dialog (File -> Print), choose the Options tab. You
should see a check box for "Print Selection Only." It will be grayed out
unless a something has been selected in the text before calling the
print dialog.

I've added a screenshot of the dialog.

I wonder why other applications like epiphany, gedit and evince don't
include this option as well. It seems like something that should be
standardized for all GTK+ applications.
