Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

My Rhythmbox has recently decided to stop playing music.

My collection is in OGG format, and I have checked that the files exist
before attempting to play them. The symptoms are the same as what was
reported in #225511:

"When I opened Rhythmbox to play a file, it appeared as though the file
would play (the play button was depressed), but the time bar never
moved. It's not that I can't hear anything, it's that the program is not
playing anything."

My music will not play in Totem either. I suspect this issue coincides
with my upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy...

All existing bug reports similar to this (returned from my search) have
been marked invalid. I have opened a new bug report because of a request
in the #225511 comments that bugs are not re-opened for Rhythmbox, and
are re-submitted instead.

If I can provide any more information please let me know.
