Aaah, didn't know I could do that (spot the recent windows convert). Ok, if I add a new panel on the 2nd screen, and put a window list on there it shows the programs I have on that monitor. That does appear to be a usable workaround so I'll keep testing that and let you know if I spot any problems.
Long term though I'd still rather have a single window list that shows all the programs I have open.
