Public bug reported: Binary package hint: file-roller
Version: GNOME file-roller 2.22.3 Steps to reproduce: * Right click on a folder which contains the '+' character in the name * Select "Create Archive" * Change the archive type to ".tar" * Click "Create" * Popup window appears stating "An error occurred while adding files to the archive" * The "Command line output" button displays the following information: tar: a+/B: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors Additional comments: * This only happens with tar (ie. ".tar", ".tar.gz", ".tar.bzip", etc.) archives * Compressing the folder from the command line using 'tar' does not generate any errors * The contents of the folder were added to the archive (for the few cases that I checked where I used "diff" to compare the files) * Does not happen when compressing a file containing a '+' character (ie. the file "+.txt" is tarred) * Does not happen when the base folder contains no '+' character but a subfolder contains the '+' character (ie. the folder "dir" is tarred and it contains the subfolder "a+") ** Affects: file-roller (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Error generated when compressing base directory with plus sign in filename https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272571 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to file-roller in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
