Discussed on IRC, this can be fixed by calling LT_OUTPUT before the use
of libtool

For backwards compatibility (allowing the package to be libtoolized with
1.5) you may want to expand it as:

    m4_ifdef([LT_OUTPUT], [LT_OUTPUT])
