The biggest problem with this is that, unlike other GNOME components,
Intrepid did not get pre-releases of ekiga 3.0, and thus didn't get
any required libraries etc. either. So changing it now would be a
pretty severe regression potential. 

I don't want to say that I outright refuse the idea (I agree that it
would be nice to have), but we need a maintainer who is interested to
looking after ekiga, work on providing working intrepid packages,
making sure that configuration upgrades etc. from 2.0 work, and care
about regressions that arise from that upgrade. If anyone wants to
take this responsibility, that would be great, and the update would
have my blessing.
