Confirming on a MacbookPro Santa Rosa on Intrepid. If I don't start Cheese after booting, gstreamer-properties gives me a picture. After starting Cheese, /dev/video0 is broken for gstreamer applications.
VLC works when specifying the device interface (/devices/pci0000:00/...) of the built-in cam.
