maybe this can help you guys, at least i hope so :

i killed gnome-power-manager and run it this way
gnome-power-manager --no-daemon --verbose
i pressed the decrease button ONCE and then the increase button ONCE (because
the brightness was at 0%)
then i switch to console and back in graphic mode (because i loose the
keyboard) and killed gnome-power-manager
