I did it too, but it was quite problematic: ekiga depends also on libpt-
plugins-alsa and the corresponding version of libpt-plugins-alsa depends
on newer version of libasound (1.0.18) than the one currently available
in intrepid repositories. After I upgraded it most applications were
unable to play any sound. Updating pulse to verision  (also not
available for intrepid) solved this problem.

The main problem however is the fact that after all those upgrades ekiga
crashes when I try to make a call ;]
