I installed the newest gnome-power-manager (2.24.0-0ubuntu8.1) on my Dell Lattitude D600. The result was mixed (I am using xubuntu 8.10, BTW):
* Now I can see the OSD when adjusting the brightness up and down. However, the keyboard was still locked as a result of pressing Fn+Up or Fn+Dn. * On one occasion I did not see the OSD, but somehow pressing Fn+Up or Fn+Dn did NOT lock my keyboard.
