Hi Lupine, I'm attaching gpm.log, as you requested. But I think that g-p-m 
isn't the source of this problem.
I tried to downgrade gnome-power-manager to 2.24.0-0ubuntu8 (from 
2.24.0-0ubuntu8.1), but the problem persists.
I also upgraded linux-backports-modules-2.6.27-11-generic (2.6.27-11.10) to 
2.6.27-11.11 and the problem still persists.
And finally downgraded xserver-xorg-video-intel to 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10 (from 
2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10.1) - none success.

What else should I try to downgrade?
