I can confirm that your solution run properly but now I'am confused because : 1 - The mail has not passed TROUGH the pipe but simply it was sent TO the pipe. In this situation I cannot change the the mail header as like as spamassisn or bogofilter, without a specific plugin. 2 - Since the difference between the two scripts is that tee opens an output stream too and the file is empty, i suppose that if the script produces output it is killed. This does not seem to be a desired behavior.
