Hello Sebastien, I don't actually know what is causing this. Now I've tried to open the share and I get the error. Even after reopening the share and exploring it inside the nautilus window, I continue to get the error (if I click on the bookmark, the connection is always successfull).
Let me know if there is some log to consult in order to track this down! I've tried to sniff the network, but I don't see any package generated when I click on the icon. If I open the share clicking on the bookmark, instead, I obviously see traffic flowing. 2009/2/2 Sebastien Bacher <seb...@ubuntu.com> > thank you for your bug report, do you have steps to trigger the issue? > does it happen after some time? could be the mount which is timeouting? > > ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) > Importance: Undecided => Low > Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > nautilus cannot open desktop link to a share ("Could not display smb://) > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/322822 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > > Status in "nautilus" source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete > > Bug description: > Hi, > I've just noticed a weird behaviour of nautilus. > > I have a network share to which I can connect successfully by opening > nautilus - for example from Computer - and then clicking on the bookmark > directory on the left bottom section. > > When I'm connected, on the desktop there is an icon which is a shortcut to > the mounted share. > > Sometimes, it happens that clicking on this icon shows the attached error > message. > > Let me know if you need any other detail. > > d...@sdoni-laptop-dev53:~$ lsb_release -rd > Description: Ubuntu 8.10 > Release: 8.10 > > d...@sdoni-laptop-dev53:~$ apt-cache policy nautilus > nautilus: > Installed: 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu1 > Candidate: 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu1 > Version table: > *** 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu1 0 > 500 http://it.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages > 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status > -- nautilus cannot open desktop link to a share ("Could not display smb://) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/322822 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
