This isn't a gnome-session issue. It sounds like Xorg or the kernel is
freezing. Tentatively reassigning to xorg-server for now.

Could you please do the following:

1. Please run "sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci.log" and attach the resulting file 
"lspci.log" to this bug report.
2. Please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log, /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old, 
/var/log/Xorg.20.log and /var/log/Xorg.20.log.old files to this bug report (if 
they exist).
3. Please attach your /var/log/kern.log file to this bug report.
4. Please also attach your /var/log/syslog file.
