Public bug reported: It used to be possible to input Unicode characters by typing Ctrl- Shift-U, the hexadecimal Unicode codepoint and a space/enter in Gtk programs.
For instance, to input π one could type Ctrl-Shift-U, 03C0, enter. It seems Ctrl-Shift-U is now passed to the application itself to handle.
