Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: metacity

I have focus mode in metacity set to strict. In intrepid, this meant
that new windows that popped up immediately would get focus, but if I
was doing something else they would not. A typical scenario is with the
browser: I might click on a link in Evolution, Xchat, or Liferea, and a
browser window would open, but only 5-10 seconds later (on a slow
laptop). If I didn't do anything after clicking, the new window would
have focus. If I kept typing or clicking, the original window would have
focus.

In jaunty, this no longer works. New windows get or don't get focus
seemingly always the wrong way. I've mistakenly clicked on the wrong
window several times already today, having upgraded to jaunty last
night. This is becoming a big headache for me.

A smaller problem is that sometimes dialog windows are now hidden behind
other windows when earlier they would have shown up, with or without
focus.
