* Is this reproducible?

No. I have reinstalled a copy of Ubuntu 9.04 and setup dual monitors
(disabling graphics acceleration), and the background remains in tact.
That bug somehow was setting desktop.gnome.background to false when I
would start up the computer.

 * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

I would say this bug magically disappeared with a reinstall and
subsequent updates.

 * Could you take a screenshot showing the issue?

As I have reinstalled Ubuntu and cannot reproduce I'm not able to.


I would mark this bug as either "works-for-me" or invalid, as I'm not having 
issues with it now.
