I agree with Sebastien that this should not be a priority. While we are
talking about changes to sound effects, I would like to express my
opinion. I find that, in Jaunty, the locations for sound effects are
decentralized as the user can change it from the Volume control
panel/mixer and the Sound preferences. The user must also know that
"Login window" admin utility contains the system wide sound effect like
the GDM drums, and still contains sound options that it no longer
manages. This disconnect could be very confusing to end users of Ubuntu.
I would appreciate discussing usability concepts for centralized sound
control with anyone willing to contribute.
