This bug is in the "original" gaim package, too - so it's not an ubuntu bug, but I thinik, Ubuntu as UTF8 distro could patch this for its package.
I'm using Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper, with newest updates, gaim is 1.5.1cvs (installed from synaptic). The problem appears at the N/A message from ICQ users; so the problem is the windows charset.
