I don't think everyone with the same video card has this problem, it's probably specific to the Amilo or even your particular model. I have the same video chipset as you have (except I have "(rev0c)" instead of "(rev03)" in the output of `lspci -vvnn`) and I don't have this problem. My guess is that it is a problem in how the kernel interfaces with your particular hardware. I don't know whereis the best place to change the backlight control setting permanently.
