Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
Standard 2Gb thumb drive that is consistently in use between my Mac OS and my Windows systems. Both read and write to this thumb drive with no problems. When I insert it it shows up and is mounted but I can't open it up or do anything else with it. The drive label is correct and the system recognizes it as a USB mass storage device. I attempted to mount the drive with no response. The eject option is not available either. Fresh installation of Ubuntu 9.04 on a Sun Ultra-24. >From dmesg: [10854.064013] usb 2-6: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [10854.199723] usb 2-6: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [10854.200074] scsi6 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices [10854.200248] usb-storage: device found at 5 [10854.200251] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning [10859.200166] usb-storage: device scan complete [10859.200814] scsi 6:0:0:0: Direct-Access LEXAR JUMPDRIVE SECURE 1000 PQ: 0 ANSI: 0 CCS [10859.207403] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] 2026592 512-byte hardware sectors: (1.03 GB/989 MiB) [10859.208256] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] Write Protect is off [10859.208259] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] Mode Sense: 43 00 00 00 [10859.208261] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through [10859.209631] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] 2026592 512-byte hardware sectors: (1.03 GB/989 MiB) [10859.210378] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] Write Protect is off [10859.210380] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] Mode Sense: 43 00 00 00 [10859.210382] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through [10859.210386] sdc: sdc1 [10859.263194] sd 6:0:0:0: [sdc] Attached SCSI disk [10859.263263] sd 6:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg3 type 0 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: nautilus 1:2.26.2-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic i686 ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- USB Thumb Drive Mounts but is inaccessible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371086 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
