Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I bought a brand neew external maxtor hard drive, formatted it and had
it's path as /media/usbdisk-1. This was at first owned by root.root. I
manually changed this via the command line via the chown command. The
file/drive now belonged to me.

However when i click on the drive icon via the desktop or did a
properties on it, it showed the drive as locked and owned by root.root.
It also showed this in natuilus/file browser. I could write thing to the
drive it was just showing it as readonly/locked and with the wrong
permissions. I even tried disconnecting the drive and reconnecting. The
drive came back and via command line it showed the correct owner/group
but via nautilus i had no luck.

I actually had to log out of gnome and log back in to show the correct
permissions/owner.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed
