Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-network
When trying to open an SSH network server connection with GNOME to browse files on the remote system, nothing happens after double-clicking on the icon if the host identification has changed since the time that the entry was added. If I try to connect to the system with the ssh client, something like this would pop up on the console screen: @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @ WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED! @ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NASTY! Someone could be eavesdropping on you right now (man-in-the-middle attack)! It is also possible that the RSA host key has just been changed. The fingerprint for the RSA key sent by the remote host is 9e:b3:9e:aa:ef:f8:75:53:3d:44:da:d6:5f:1d:4a:94. Please contact your system administrator. Add correct host key in /home/dana/.ssh/known_hosts to get rid of this message. Offending key in /home/dana/.ssh/known_hosts:13 RSA host key for 192.168.1.69 has changed and you have requested strict checking. Host key verification failed. GNOME should have something like this built-in, to at least alert the user that the connection will not open up. Optionally, it should allow the user to continue connecting, updating the entry in known_hosts. ** Affects: gnome-vfs2 (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Confirmed -- No dialog when remote host ident. has changed https://launchpad.net/bugs/48610 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
