It occurred to me that I should be using my new att.net account to access the old yahoo mail, so I called technical support at AT^T after finding the pop field on the preferences edit menu in evolution. That support guy told me I did want a POP sending server if I was referring to that server. I still get a broken pipe, but now I also get an error message that I don't know my own password at att.
