** Also affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New
** Description changed: When the user does the following steps: - Click with the right-button on the virtual desktop preview at the bottom bar. - Select "Preferences" - - Change Colums to 4 (example, could be any value higher than 2) + - Change Columns to 4 (example, could be any value higher than 2) Now the user wants to set the shortcut to switch to the new virtual desktops (3 and 4). The user does: - System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts Go to section: "Window Management" There is no option to set the shortcuts for desktops 3 and 4. Only for 1 and 2. In my case, I've done the following: - Open terminal - type "gconf-editor" - go to apps > metacity > general - set num_workspaces to 4 I guess that this operation is not user-friendly. When the user changes the number of virtual desktops, the shortcut support for the new virtual desktops should automatically be added to the "Keyboard Shortcuts". ** Tags added: usability -- Virtual Desktop and Keyboard Shortcut inconsistencies. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/400242 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
