Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media
I am running current karmic amd64. Since the new volume control applet came out, which talks to PulseAudio (The one with the single "Output Volume" slider on top of the tabs), I can no longer control the "real hardware" volume. So if e.g. my PCM volume was stuck at 56% (as it happened just now) and the sound is just not loud enough, I had to run "alsamixer -c 0" ("alsamixer" alone was also hijacked by PulseAudio) to turn up the hardware volume. This is obviously not easy for users not knowing about alsamixer and relying on the stock GUI mixer. So either there's really no hardware volume control reachable, or I just could not find it... ** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: karmic -- volume control applet with PA offers no hardware volume control https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407650 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
