When I uncheck /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop
the desktop icons does disappear.
But when I check it it back, they do not reappear.

I must precise: It use to work before I try to change this value with
gconftool-2
But now, when I try:

:~$ gconftool-2 --set /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop --type bool "0"
The icons disappear
:~$ gconftool-2 --get /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop
:~$ false

then I try

:~$ gconftool-2 --set /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop --type bool "1"
The icons DO NOT reappear !!!
:~$ gconftool-2 --get /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop
:~$ true
even if the boolean value is set to true.

But it sounds like there is a way my destkop Icons can reappear.
When I start nautilus from she shell
but when I close this nautilus or close the shell, the Icons disappear again.

Do you have any ideas?
