Using Karmic with latest updates, 2.6.31-9-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP Sun Aug 30 17:39:26 UTC 2009 x86_64, I still get the "Agent admitted" message, but am then asked for the appropriate passphrase and then ssh connects appropriately. Unsetting SSH_AUTH_SOCK suppresses the "Agent admitted" message.
