Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

Right click on an archive in nautilus, select "Extract Here" and a new
directory called <name of archive>_FILES is made, and within this the
archive contents are expanded.

I believe this behaviour is a regression. This used to happen in GNOME
2.10, or .12, and was fixed to the correct behaviour since then. Now
it's gone back to this illogical behaviour.

The contents of the archive are expected to be extracted directly into
the current directory (the same in which the archive exists), as
"Extract Here" suggests.

** Affects: file-roller (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
