I noted the problem in earlier alphas, and the slow sound is also manifest in the - Ubuntu startup sound after login. It is evident in any mp3 or mp4 I - play (with gstreamer additions). As the problem was reported to be - related to pulseaudio, I tried removing it but nothing changed. For - context, I can report that with the same alpha running on the same Mac - but in VMware Fusion, there is no sound at all when playing the same - mp's, but removing pulseaudio results in normal sound.
