I have to disagree with you, BeowulfOF. As Neils wrote in comment #5
there is no new tab option for the content menu, as is shown in the
first image I attached, although middle-clicking the link does open it
in anew window as you decribe. As my second image shows the new window
is opened in a window so small as to be worthless (at least on my
system). If I drag the tab into my main Epiphany window Epiphany
crashes, a behavior that I know should be addressed in a bug of it's
own.

In the event both images don't attatch here are links to the images on my 
Picasa account:
   1. No New tab option:

   2. Middle-clicked link opens in uselessly small new window:

Please change the status on this bug to reflect the fact that the fix
doesn't seem to appear in Ubuntu 9.10 beta.
