So the way that we work to disable screensaver is by running:
"gnome-screensaver-command --poke"

Can you start mythfrontend like this so we can see if it's even trying
to run that command (and rule out if it's a gnome screensaver not
responding to the poke problem, or a problem with the way myth is using
the poke)

mythfrontend -v important,general,playback
