Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I have an HP 7550 17" monitor with a maximum resolution of 1600x1200
However the display settings applet displays it as a 'Hewlett-Packard 16"'
monitor with a maximum resolution of 1280x1024. The display applet does not
provide any facility to manually override the incorrectly-detected monitor.
