Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility
Palimpsest Disk Utility shows an icon for unmounting a disk volume even if the user doesn't have permission to unmount it. To recreate: Select the partition mounted at / The unmount icon in the toolbar is enabled. After clicking on it I get a error: "Error unmounting: umount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with: umount: only root can unmount UUID=84cadf52-515e-47d7-a0c7-a12bb53ea9a3 from /" I also noticed the Delete button is also enabled, but I don't think I want to see if it does anything. The program should be able to determine if the user has permission beforehand and disable the buttons. lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 apt-cache policy gnome-disk-utility gnome-disk-utility: Installed: 2.28.0+git20091012-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 2.28.0+git20091012-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 2.28.0+git20091012-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: gnome-disk-utility (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Unmount icon active for volumes that cannot be unmounted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461707 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
