Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets
With the upgrade to gnome-{panel,applets}-2.28, the battstat simply applet disappeared. There is no way to actually get the information of the remaining battery time prominently back in a place in a panel I'd like. Just the percentage information from g-p-m in the notification area is not enough. It a) doesn't show the remaining time and b) doesn't allow me to show it where *I* want this information to be shown on the panel. So clearly, only the applet fulfils this usecase. I expected the applet not to disappear in first place. Then I expected to be able to place that applet back on the panel again.
