A workaround is not a bug fix... And doing a special treatment for foreign language is definitely not a bug fix either (i'm french BTW). I think the bug should just be fixed by the developers (I don't care if it's one of Rhythmbox or of GNOME or X.org). And I also think it's a shame that more than a year after the bug appears in launchpad, the bug is still active and even though not fixed!
What should we do to be heard? Maybe open a brainstorm idea?
