concerning the previous comment on the function keys: the F1 and Fn-F1 keys remained swapped after reinstalling the nvidia 185 driver. I had to '/etc/init.d/pommed stop' and edit the fn value in /etc/pommed.conf, then '/etc/init.d/pommed start' and then (yes!) stop it again, edit the fn value again back to the original ('2' in my case) and start pommed again. Now it's back to normal.
I've also noticed that it the nvidia 185 installation that cause the login screen to be factor of 2 to BIG vertically. My 17" screen is 1680x1050 which is properly recognized by the 185 driver, but apparently the gdm daemon reads /etc/X11/xorg.conf and find 1680x2068 (or 2000something). When you change this 2000something to 1050 the next login will have a proper size. To clarify: I had this problem after the upgrade 9.04 -> 9.10, I changed the 2000something to 1050 so I know that it is the ___nvidia___ driver that's causing it (maybe indirectly). -- ubuntu 9.10 doesn't resume after sleep macbook pro 4,1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478361 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
