Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm
Not sure if this is actually related to gdm, but when I searched through help files on my PC autostart seems to be a gdm thing. On a clean install of Karmic (with all updates done) the startup applications specified in System / Preferences / Startup Applications seem to work fine. I added a couple: Rhythmbox, Ubuntuone, Mail- notification and Dropbox (www.getdropbox.com). Now none of the startup applications run. The volume-control and network icons are also gone from the gnome panel. I tried deleting and recreating the user. I was able to add Rhythmbox which started fine, but adding the others reproduces the problem. I have looked around in some of the log files, but am not really sure where to look. If someone could point me in the right direction I may be able to give more details Thanks Michael ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Nov 12 09:40:24 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) Package: gdm 2.28.1-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_ZA.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: gdm Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- autostart applications ignored on start up in 9.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/481162 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
