Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox
I am attempting to import my music over a samba share from another Ubuntu 9.10 box. The music is being imported very slowly and has returned loads of import errors as described in the summary. "Internal GStreamer problem; file a bug" At first I thought it wasn't importing recursively, as it imported the files directly in the primary directory quickly, but after about 20 minutes I started seeing some of the files from subdirectories appear. I have attempted to import directly over samba (i.e. smb://servername/music) and as a mounted directory (i.e. file:///media/music). I've seen this problem reported over and over going back to Gutsy, but still no resolution? After ~1 hour of importing I have 186 out of over 10,000 songs imported. This process took only about a minute on the machine where the files reside.
