The process was copying files (avi) from a folder created in Home/documents to the desktop by right clicking on the file and selecting copy, and then right clicking on the desktop and pasting the file....copying takes place, but after quite a few, the desktop will not display the files...reboot solves the problem. I have been tracking this bug for some time and trying to find out just how to reproduce it continually.
