Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

I was browsing the internet and using skype chat and the whole desktop became
irresponsive,
but I could move the mouse. I was entering the yahoo mail site.

I was able to go to tty1 and I tried to kill many applications to see if I got
the desktop back,
I think it was a gdm-(something) application that got the desktop reponsive
again when
killed.
