** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-utils

Every time I use the dictionary applet and then close the little window
containing the word definition, a frame shadow remains on the desktop.
The shadow is only on the desktop and not on any window overlapping the
certain area. For any needed information not provided please ask with a
  comment.
+
+ Steps to reproduce:
+ 1)Install and enable compiz
+ 2)Add to your panel the "gnome-dictionary-applet"
+ 3)Close or minimize all the windows (we don't want anything overlapping the
desktop surface)
+ 3)Type an English word in the applet's space and press enter
+ 4)Press esc to close the word-definition -window.
+ 5)Observe the shadow on your desktop where the applet window was.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  Edit:
Here is a suggested (by me) workaround. (Not a solution, but maybe it helps
somebody until we find a real solution) :

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1)Install the CompizConfig Settings Manager if you don't have it.
2)Open it from System->Preferences->CompizConfig Settings Manager
3)Find Window decoration and click it. (You can use the filter to save time)
4)Go to the last line where it says "Shadow windows"
5)CHANGE THE RESPECTIVE FIELD FROM "any" to "type=Normal"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This way you don't have the little annoying frame shadow on your desktop
without losing your compiz effects.
