Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
When I plug my Blackberry Curve 8900 into my laptop, Ubuntu recognizes
it as a music player and offers to open RhythmBox. RhythmBox does not
show the Blackberry, though. If I add the file ".is_media_player" to the
root directory of the SD card in the Blackberry, it DOES show up in
RhythmBox, but I can't do anything with it.
Under no circumstances do songs show up from the Blackberry in
Rhythmbox.
Following some information I found on the Web, I edited
/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-music-players.fdi
and changed the path on the SD card for music files from /user/music or
something like that to the standard Blackberry/music, which matches the
directory structure on my player. Still no luck.
I'm using Karmic on a Thinkpad T60 with 3GB RAM. All packages are up to
date. It's Rhythmbox 0.12.5.
