Thats OK, I'll chase upstream.. Just wanted to put a feeler out on this one to see what others thought about it.
I agree the empty cdrom icon is kind of useful, because you can (usually) eject/open the drive tray/etc.. (that's actually missing in karmic at the moment, but that's another issue :) A card reader really doesn't have anything to offer like this, other than the comfort that the device is actually present.. the SD/XD/MMC port on my Toshiba notebook doesn't show up unless a card is inserted, it's only really the old clunky cardreaders.. Trying to locate an actual device with real media amongst all those empty icons is still quite a pain in the backside. Perhaps we could make the unmounted media icons more transparent/lightly coloured to make the others stand out more? -- Empty card reader slots still show icons in Computer:/// https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
