Latest on gnome-power-manager: I thought, that the bug was fixed,
but realized, that another power- manager, guidance-power-manager along with xscreensaver 5.10 were actually active. I adjusted this power manager, within xscreensaver settings to 1440 minutes each. I deleted gnome power manager, which is still as useless as it was ever since Karmic. I auto-start xscreensaver, and I can now safely watch & download TV & movies, without the PC causing a video signal loss, due to gnome- power-manager. Since no one is really willing to fix this horrific bug, I recommend to just shelve the gnome-power-manager, and install KDE's guidance-power-manager in consort with xscreensaver 5.10. By the way, I am using Lucid Lynx alpha which, in my opinion, works better than Karmic. Why even bother with Karmic if the upgrade works even better?
