Hi, Unfortunately I have had to uninstall Ubuntu and revert to Windows on my laptop. It is a huge disappointment to me and not really down to this issue at all, it is much more to do with Vmware and mouse support along with some basic X server instability. I look forward to trying Ubuntu in the near future again, when I have enough time to dedicate to figuring out its quirks.
