Odd that this would be marked as invalid, I was just bit by a very similar problem. I'd setup a media system for my TV and had been playing mpeg4 videos back on it for some time without issue. Tonight I went to play a video file and the display was blank, yet the audio was fine. Tested another video and this time the display was garbled (diagonal lines of various colors) and again the audio was fine. Tested the video files from another system and the files themselves are fine. Changed the default gstreamer video output as indicated here and now both video files play correctly.
The system in question is running up to date 9.10 (karmic). -- totem will not display mp4 video https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
